Évaluation
Auctentic, as a broker, evaluates your jewels on the solid base of the values of similar pieces bought and sold on the international professional market. If the communicated range value is of interest, Auctentic looks for the best possible offer in the market. Furthermore Auctentic acts as a guarantor both for you and the buyer by making sure you get your immediate payment the moment we assess the value of the jewel.
Auctentic is a broker specialising in diamonds over 1ct in weight, and jewellery that mounts the same category of gemstones.
We also deal in emeralds, rubies and sapphires over 3ct each, and related jewellery, and have a specific service for pre-owned luxury watches.
In order to proceed, the first essential step is to provide Auctentic with as much information as possible about the precious you wish to have evaluated. This can be done by sending the certificate or by sending clear, accurate photos by following the instructions here. Only once the data has been collected can Auctentic provide an idea of the real value of the precious and, if desired, find the best possible offer. In order to proceed with the transaction, it is imperative that Auctentic's gemologists can check the characteristics of the precious in person by arranging insured shipping or an appointment at the offices.
Our service is completely free for you: not only the evaluation and the search of a potential buyer but also the shipping, cleaning and photoshooting procedures.
Our brokering commissions are fully charged on the buying party.
Auctentic, being an intermediary, has no interest in submitting downward values but, on the contrary, is in a position to push bids as far as possible. Moreover, with a network of more than 2,000 interlocutors, it grants priority access to the market of internationally ranked professionals, the only ones always able to make concrete offers. Auctentic also stands guarantor for the total solvency of buyers by reducing credit times. Auctentic is also in constant contact with the international market to have continuous updates on current values and trends. This makes it possible to provide real and verifiable values.
There is absolutely no obligation to accept our offer. You are free to withdraw your acceptance at any time before finalizing.
However, it is possible that offers, by the very nature of the market we follow, have an instant or limited validity, and cannot be guaranteed beyond an agreed period of time.
Auctentic's commitment is to provide you with an offer within 1 to 3 working days from the arrival of your jewel in our premises. Of course the selling process is specific to each case because every situation is different and unique. Relax, our people will guide you every step of the way.

Auctentic is a relatively young entity created specifically to help individuals sell their jewelry. However, it has its roots in two international companies that have been in the most prominent circles such as Diamond Exchanges for several generations. The expertise has therefore been built for several decades.
Auctentic premises for the Italian market are in Milan, at Via Albricci 9. As we want to provide each and everyone of you with privacy, we kindly ask you to call in advance to schedule a meeting. Once a month we also schedule a working day in Rome.
Auctentic's other office is in Antwerp, Belgium, within the Diamond stock exchange. Additionally, we have an office in Paris, France, located at 11 Rue de Provence.
Absolutely. However, in order to respect the privacy of all our clients, we ask you to call at least 3 hours in advance to schedule an appointment and ensure that you can be received with the necessary care.
The analysis of the precious is a fundamental step. Auctentic as an intermediary must vouch for the quality of the precious and be able to check its gemological and manufacturing characteristics. The only way to proceed with due professionalism is by viewing it in person, and shipping is by far the quickest and safest way to proceed.
Auctentic relies on Malca-Amit, an internationally recognized value carrier. In 2 working days you are sent to your domicile the material needed for packing. Pickup, also at your home, takes place at a later time and is arranged by prior arrangement. From the time the package is handed over to the courier to when it arrives at our location can take from 1 to 3 working days.
No, all shipping costs are borne by Auctentic.
Yes. Shipping does not mean that you will be obligated to accept the offer. However, shipping is mandatory to receive an offer.
It is important that the valuable is protected from being hit by using a small box, cotton, or shot paper. If you have it, the gemological certificate should also be put in the package.
Together with the packaging material you'll also receive the instruction to prepare the shipment. If you prefer, you can ask to be helped via videocall by our operators.
Not necessarily. The insurance value is usually the average of the range of values reported at appraisal; the final bid may be higher, lower or equal to the insurance value.
There are three ways to do it: the first is to see how much, the same item, is sold for on average in jewelry stores; the second is to study the chosen market and recent transactions to understand the real resale values; and the third is to analyze the production costs of an identical piece.
As soon as our experts have all the necessary information. In case the precious is accompanied by a gemological certificate, it takes around 12/24h working hours; in the absence of a certificate it may take 24/48h working hours.
Auctentic do not charges fees on the seller. Commissions are unique to the buyer.
Auctentic earns solely from commissions and that is also why there is no interest in sending downward bids.
No, no fees are charged to sellers.
No. If the final offer is rejected, the jewel is returned to the sender at Auctentic's expense.
The calculator estimates your diamond’s value based on carat weight, clarity, color, cut, symmetry, and fluorescence. Estimates are based on GIA certificates for diamonds with Very Good (VG) or Excellent (EX) cut and symmetry, and fluorescence ranging from None to Medium. The calculator uses market data and valuation algorithms to provide an approximate value. Always consult our gemologists for precise assessments.
The calculator provides an estimate based on market data over the 2/3 weeks prior the request. Actual values may vary and specifically fluctuate for higher carat weights. For precise assessments, consult our certified gemologists.
The calculator is designed for standard colourless diamonds with Very Good or Excellent cut and symmetry, and fluorescence ranging from None to Medium. Contact us for a detailed appraisal of other types and characteristics.
If you disagree with the preliminary estimate, consider a professional appraisal. Consult our gemologists for an exact value.
Yes, we offer consultations with our experts who can review the details of your diamond and provide a more comprehensive evaluation.
A certified diamond will come with a grading report from a recognized gemological laboratory, such as GIA or IGI. The report will detail the diamond’s characteristics and confirm its authenticity.
If you have a certification report for your diamond, use the details provided in the report. If you don’t have a report, consider having your diamond evaluated by a professional jeweler to ensure accurate information.
We take your privacy seriously. The information you provide is used solely for the purpose of calculating your diamond's value and is not shared with third parties. Our website employs security measures to protect your data.
The calculator is optimized for standard cuts. For diamonds with custom or unique cuts, the valuation might be less precise. We recommend seeking a professional appraisal consulting our gemologists for such diamonds.
Auctentic uses non-revocable instant transfers via Wise circuit.
The Wise circuit makes it possible to have transfers credited to almost any bank circuit within a few minutes. There is a possibility, especially around lunchtime and on Friday afternoons, that individual branches will suspend the entry of transfers by communicating batch times that are normally about two hours. Those delays are only imputable to the receiving bank and can not be modified by the paying bank.
It depends from the state you live in. For example, in Italy there is no taxation while French citizens need to pay taxes on diamond and jewels whose selling price is more than €5.000.
We invite you to check your country laws.
To make it stand out to the best advantage, each piece of jewelry is carefully cleaned and photographed in every detail. It is then accompanied by a data sheet showing the gemological characteristics of the object, so as to provide every indication necessary for potential buyers to be able to make their offers.
The negociations are made on the phone by our specialized team. Our people make the best offers compete in order to get the best out of it.
The transaction is made via bank transfer and is immediate an therefore there is no need to come to the office.
As we make a preselection of the possible buyers and it is only the last step of our selling process, the negociation takes normally around 30 to 45 minutes. Of course each piece is unique and there might be exceptions.
Jewelry or diamonds to be appraised, if shipped to our location, are stored with the highest levels of security and protected by closed video recording circuits.
Buyers are only professionals operating in the international market.
In case you have the certificate, the evaluation timeframe is shortened. However, it remains necessary for our gemologists to be able to confirm the data of the same in the analysis.
No, an appraisal can be partial and is almost always accompanied by an economic value that the appraiser establishes according to various criteria; a gemological certificate can also be partial but never reports values.
For diamonds GIA, IGI and HRD, for color stones GRS, SSEF and Gübelin Gem Lab.
Not necessarily. The insurance value is usually the average of the range of values reported at appraisal; the final bid may be higher, lower or equal to the insurance value.
